Hedge on the AR-15 & the 2nd Amendment

So call me pessimistic…but after every mass shooting, I fear some piece of late-night, sneak-attack legislation taking away a piece of my 2nd Amendment. Of course I grieve those tragically lost at the hands of these scum-bag terrorists, but I also can’t help seeing the political opportunists making power plays. I think the discerning gun owner should hedge their bets on the AR-15 and the 2nd Amendment by buying AR-15 lower receivers, magazines, and ammunition.

If a sudden ban on AR-15s came about, I’d wager it would take away your ability to get more AR-15s and not necessarily take away what we already have. That being said, you’d better have a stockpile, and if you don’t have the funds, get a cheaper lower reciever. The ATF considers the lower receiver ‘the gun’ so as long as you have it, you would likely be able to add parts to complete your AR-15 even after a ban. Even better still, AR-15 lowers are not expensive.

Remember that even as we plan for the worst, let us fight for the best by doing our part to support the right to bear arms.
