G45 Review | a redesigned G19X
Military and law enforcement should definitely take note of the new Glock 45 (G45). I was excited to do a G45 review because it kept the same solid design improvements of the Glock 19X. This design was initially brought about to meet military requirements and evolving law enforcement specifications.
At first glance, it is obvious the G45 is similar to the 19X, but it has a few principal differences. Both are compact crossovers with slide lengths the same as the G19 and pistol grips the length of the G17. You will notice though that the G45 comes in black rather than coyote color, no night sights, and has a few other cosmetic changes. Because of the lengthened pistol grip I find this gun harder to conceal, but for open-carry duty use, this thing is awesome.
G45 features include:
- flared magwell,
- less expensive than the G19X,
- black (instead of coyote color),
- removal of finger grooves,
- smooth gen 5 trigger,
- front cocking serrations,
- cut muzzle for easy re-holstering,
- ambidextrous controls,
- removal of lanyard attachment point.
