Should You Get Concealed Carry Insurance?

Should you get concealed carry insurance in case you need to defend yourself with a gun?
If so, which CCW insurance is the right call for you?
I recently interviewed expert self defense lawyer Andrew Branca to help me answer these questions. Branca is the author of The Law of Self Defense and has been a lawyer for 25 years. He is also a Master competitive shooter, a former student of Massad Ayoob, and host of the Law of Self Defense Show.
My main reluctance in getting this type of insurance is that I’m tired of paying so much for insurance as it is! Health insurance, life insurance, car insurance, home insurance, etc. — you get the idea. Another objection I have is that if I’m justified in a shooting, shouldn’t justice prevail and render this insurance unnecessary?
Andrew Branca explains that even in a justifiable case of self defense, you are likely to accumulate enough legal bills to bankrupt a person. How depressing, I know. Branca argues that if you find it prudent to carry a gun, you should think of CCW insurance as a necessary part of this.
Finally, Branca tells me his opinion on the best options for concealed carry insurance. He advises you research the following: (1) CCW Safe Insurance, (2) USCCA Carry Insurance, and the Armed Citizen’s Legal Defense Network Insurance. *Update: I ended up going with USCCA
