Practical Medical Response - Course Overview
If you are the first person on the scene of a medical emergency, would you know what to do? Using a combination of lecture and hands-on practical application, our instructor will give you the knowledge and tools to provide life-saving care when every second counts and first responder assets are still minutes away. This 2-day course is designed to build a practical and foundational first-response skillset before building on top of these base skills with a deeper comprehension of anatomy, physiology, and trauma.
Remember - you are MUCH more likely to use your med kit to save a life than you are your firearm. If you carry or plan to carry a CCW, do not neglect the importance of being responsibly trained in medical response.
Day 1 Overview (Med 1)
Medical 1 focuses on the most common type of injuries that you may have to treat in a civilian environment. This course is designed to teach how to bridge the gap between the incident and EMS, for civilians who have little to no med experience/training. After taking this class, students will have learned vital first aid applications that they can use under pressure.
Day 2 Overview (Med 2)
Building off of the foundation taught in Day 1, Day 2 takes a deeper dive into the "why" behind various life-saving techniques, teaching students how to provide extended care in stressful environments.
This course will cover more in-depth normal anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology of traumatic injuries, as well as a glimpse at more advanced invasive maneuvers performed by trained personnel. This instruction is not to perform invasive skills, but to better understand and prepare the patient for the arrival of advanced life support providers.

Medical 1
Pat did a phenomenal job at getting us comfortable with everything you might find in an IFAK along with how and when to properly apply it. He brought his extensive real world experience to the table to help lead a course best suited for the average civilian. I highly recommend this course and would suggest adding Medical 2 to your training as well.
