Warrior Poet Society Rifle 1 Training Course Overview
This 1 day course lays the foundation that all future rifle training will rest on. Safety, range etiquette, weapon operation, accessories, fundamentals of fire, shooting/ready positions, rapid target acquisition, target transitions, clearing of stoppages, rapid fire, and warrior mindset are the main subjects tackled in this essential course. Rifle 1
This is another excellent course for those with little to no experience working with rifles and optics. The curriculum is on point and progressive and covers the fundamentals. If you have experience, knowledge, and proficiency it does not equate to the course. Everybody is at the beginner level but this is the price of admission to get in to their "big show" of more advanced courses. I would not hesitate to recommend to beginner shooters

Cost-effective crash course…like drinking from a fire hose!
I attended the Warrior Poet Society Rifle 1 & 2 courses taught by Paul Perkerson and Sam Houston. I showed up with almost zero skill using a rifle for defensive/fighting purposes; just some experience with basic marksmanship and range plinking. I returned home with a refined skillset, and more importantly, the knowledge of how to keep progressing through training. After just two days at these courses, I now feel competent using a rifle in an emergency (after a healthy reality check!), which made it well-worth the investment. The course content was eminently practical, and the instruction was top-notch, with each new concept or drill building on the last. They packed a lot into each day, with no fluff or filler. Just what you need for basic defensive shooting fundamentals. At times, it felt like drinking from a fire hose. Paul and Sam are excellent teachers and coaches. They have a keen eye for safety and can give clear, effective cues to improve your performance. Despite their extensive skill and professional experience, they were refreshingly humble and never talked down to anyone. Consummate professionals. They were also happy to answer training or gear-related questions during breaks. The other students were kind, respectful, and committed to supporting each other’s learning. While there were a wide range of skill levels, there was no ego or competition, which is a testament to the culture present in the WPS. There are lots of great firearms training courses out there (and some not-so-great ones). I chose this one because of the culture, values, and level of excellence that the Warrior Poet Society is known for. And I’m glad I did. I hope I can train with the WPS again soon.

Amazing
Took Pistol 1,2 & Rifle 1,2,3 in Immokalee. Learned so much in Rifle 1 from basic gun setup to proper carry & ready positions of the rifle and multiple round/target engagements. This is a great course for experienced shooters and 1st timers. Paul, Sam, Josh are on point. The instruction is so easy to understand. You will not regret taking this training. It was so good I will likely take it again.

What an Experience!!!
So… like any good American you have this thing called an AR-15 and we all know how to use them right? Don’t think so fast! Rifle 1 is the perfect introduction this weapon and how to effectively use it in home defense. Paul, Sam and Josh are incredible. I learned so much from these guys and had a blast doing it. From sighting in your weapon for close range combat to a manual of arms for maneuvering you gun around obstacles….this class has everything you need to defend your home with a rifle. We have all this cool gear in our “Tacticool” lives, but how often do we get out there with experts to show us how to “really” use them. I can’t recommend this class enough for anyone that wants to defend their homestead. Thank you Paul, Sam and Josh for an amazing experience!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PISTOL 1&2 RIFLE 1,2&3
Just finished taking pistol 1&2 and rifle 1,2&3 with Paul & Josh and all I can say is what an amazing week. Not only the skills that was taught with both pistol and rifle but the way they teach is so easy to understand. Paul is great at what he does and would highly recommend any class he teaches. I wasn't expecting Josh to be there but what a treat to have him there. Josh is a great instructor and when you get Paul and Josh together they make the class so entertaining and fun at the same time they are teaching you all the fundamentals and advanced skills to become a better protector. If you're holding off on taking these classes like I was just because you want "John Lovell" as an instructor I'm here to say Paul and Josh were absolutely great. I would like to train with the man himself John Lovell also but I would train anything Paul and Josh teach and feel just as warm and tingly inside as I would with John Lovell. Don't wait just sign up and do it you will not regret it !!

Rifle 1 WPS
Who knew that after being trained with a rifle 32 years ago, that I would finally learn how to control recoil? Paul and Sam's training is advanced while fixing the basics, and excellent for beginners and experienced shooters alike.

First Class Instruction
Paul and Sam lead our class. They provided impressively competent, smoot, entertaining, and professional instruction. The information itself is delivered in a very digestible and practical format. Range safety couldn't have been better even as they got us to push ourselves. Everyone there was performing significantly better by the end of the day. These guys are a WEALTH of knowledge and a pleasure to learn from. Watch the classes online before hand, show up with the attitude of a sponge, and this will be a great experience.
