Well, life is short, so let’s make it happen. This will be the ultimate education vacation for a War Poet, and we hope you'll join us in this all-inclusive experience at the Cedar Gate retreat in Kingfisher, Oklahoma.
Daily Itinerary
Wake up in the morning and feast on a hot breakfast buffet, giving you the fuel you need for a day of world-class mid-range marksman training taught by Josh Kent. Have a sack lunch delivered to the range, then finish off the afternoon training. After that, clean up and join John and Josh for a professionally curated dinner and an evening of fellowship between War Poets. Finally, grab some shuteye in a luxury cabin with your own private bedroom and bathroom, and do it all again the next day.
The Venue
The land of The Cedar Gate is a story in itself. Originally tended for crops and cattle, it has been part of the Hill family legacy for generations. It is brimming with memories of family gatherings and Christmas traditions, watered with spilled orange juice and syrup from boys’ camping trips, and seasoned with countless hours of prayer, reflection, and revelation. For many people, The Cedar Gate is a place of refuge and solitude to seek God, find rest, and escape the busyness of life long enough to connect with what matters most.

Warrior Poet Society Mid-Range Rifle Marksman Training Course Overview
This 2-day Designated Marksman Rifle (DMR) course is built around teaching how to exploit the mid-range capabilities (100-600 yards) of the AR platform. Taught by a US Special Forces Sniper Instructor, we are going to take your rifle work to the next level. We will allow you to take the AR platform you have and capitalize on its inherent accuracy with maximum effectiveness. Topics covered will include rifle setup, basic ballistics, positional shooting, and an intro to wind reading. In this course you will become capable of stretching the legs on your AR platform out to 600 yards with reliability and confidence.
Note: You may shoot reloaded ammo (at your own risk) or steel case. You MAY NOT shoot any steel penetrating core, i.e. NATO green tip.
Class will be led by US Special Forces Sniper Instructor Josh Kent
