One Man Room Clearing Training: Tactical Room Clearing
Course Overview
This is one of Warrior Poet Society’s most under-valued courses, as many think it’s only something for SWAT teams and military members. The reality is that every patrol officer answering a call, every civilian investigating a ‘bump in the night’, and really, every person who comes in harms way in or around any structure is engaging in room clearing. This is high-stakes chess and the unforgiving game of angles. Here, pistol / rifle skills graduate into something far more important: tactics. All military, law enforcement, and civilians are welcome to attend this 2 day course, pending legal possession of a firearm and US citizenship. Students will learn timeless tactical principles and combat-proven, deliberate clearing techniques, which will enable them to spot the threats much earlier and avoid getting ambushed.
Additional Information
This class is a mix between classroom time, drills, force-on-target, and force-on-force exercises. The course will review different types of clearing methods and display the various tactics that make them successful. For single-man clearing outside of an active shooter scenario, we will major on more deliberate clearing methods. This course does not have any live fire. You may run the course with your AR-15 / m4 carbine and one of our conversion kits, and/or a Glock 17 pistol (we will provide). Face masks will also be provided, as well as ammunition. You will need to bring other protective gear such as thicker clothing, neck protection, gloves, baseball cap, etc.
Who Can Attend?
- All U.S citizens ages 18 and up that are legally allowed to own/purchase/possess a firearm and who have completed an introductory firearm safety course. Minors are not permitted.
- You must have an intermediate/advanced level of training in pistol and/or rifle and be able to provide proof of training. You will be tied to whatever weapon system in which you have adequate training. If you are trained in both, you will be able to switch intermittently if you so choose.
What Do You Need?
- A quality semi-automatic AR / M4 / AK platform (Glock 17 force-on-force guns provided)
- Equipped with a Tactical Rifle Sling and Red Dot. If you could, a weapon light is recommended.

TAKE THIS CLASS.
Not even two hours after the end of course, HOLY SMOKES! Incredibly well paced & balanced, maximizing training time. Expertly taught with meaningful and frank feedback throughout. I had as much fun as I was challenged. These guys care about creating more and better defenders of life for our communities. Made me better and made me want to be better. I WILL take this again. Thank you!

Take this course
The instruction is First Rate. Josh and the accompanying AI/s are phenomenal. It would be hard to find a more qualified instructor cadre. The course information is delivered in a straight forward and hands on fashion. Notes: - Bring a notebook and take notes. - During the force-on-force, there has a tendency to be a lot of "low" fire. Doesn't take a lot, but bring your groin protection! This is probably one of the most eye opening and valuable training opportunities that we as civilians can have. The reality of one man CQB is a very scary concept and I believe every responsible gun owner who believes in protecting themselves and their loved ones should take this course.

One Man Room Clearing
Firstly I would like to start this review with a testament to Josh. Great dude. Very tentative, knowledgeable and funny. His qualifications speak for themselves. However, his ability to teach is outstanding. Secondly, this class is extremely well done. From the classroom time all the way to scenario based exercises and everything between is well executed. I had some jitters going in. They were quickly squashed. Follow the rules and everything else falls right into place. Lastly, I would like to commend the Warrior Poets Society as an organization. Well grounded with quality content. Thank you guys again for the training. This will not be the last class I attend.

One Man Room Clearing
This course was taught by Josh and Gene. It was well organized and very practical. These guys are both Green Berets and teach CQB to other tier 1 guys for a living, now. Gene has an excellent teaching demeanor. He and Josh have A LOT of experience to share, which was awesome.

One Man Room Clearing
Went into this training feeling very uneasy and nervous. It's a lot of info to take in, and the force on force definitely gets you out of your comfort zone. That being said, Josh is an amazing instructor. He has a way of exposing you, yet at the same time encouraging you. He led the class with amazing fortitude and grit. He won't let you back down, but he also won't let you be complacent. Josh and Gene did a phenomenal job of putting you right in the middle of some "grown man shit." And yet, finding a way to make you feel good about it, lol. This class was AMAZING. Would do it all over again. Incredible experience and incredible instruction from Josh and Gene. Beyond satisfied with how I walked away.

Highly recommend this course
I wanted to share my thoughts on the one man room clearing course I just finished up in Alabama. In my opinion this class is a must for anyone who takes their and their loved ones personal protection seriously, and also for any law enforcement professionals. This class is eye opening, I had no idea just how inept I was was with these kinds of skills. It was quite frustrating realizing this but the personal growth and confidence you gain is well worth it. After you see and learn how the pros navigate these kinds of challenges it will change your mind on any pre conceived notions you may have had. Unfortunately I do not think that one could learn these skills merely through just watching it on a video. The UTM rounds are excellent teachers all on their own because you will pay for your mistakes with pain. This adds a level of testing and realism that I do not believe could be reproduced in any other way besides an actual gunfight. John and Josh were co-instructors for the class that I attended. If you are hesitant about signing up for the next class because John will not be teaching it then please let me put your worries to rest. Josh is the real deal, this man has a wealth of real world knowledge when it comes to gunfighting. He trains Green Berets how to conduct CQB. I promise that you will get what you paid for and then some. If you are concerned with anything ranging from an active killer situation or just investigating a bump in the night then I would highly suggest you attend this class.
